The suggestion is that everyone’s spiritual evolution will be greatly enhanced if they say the following out loud (in their own time, their own words and their own space):
"If, in this or any other life, I have cursed another sentient being, I remove that curse now and forever."
In renouncing past curses, we are relieving this being of having to provide energy to old patterns and freeing this being to evolve to a higher level in the new world.
We understand that the term "sentient being" is used to encourage acknowledgment of the creator force, even in objects we consider inanimate. So if we stubbed our toe, we practice apologizing to the rock for our unconscious state and thank it for the reminder to remain conscious at all times, rather than cursing the rock.
There is also the possibility that each of us has placed a curse upon ourselves, telling our mind things about us that diminish who we really are. Calling for the removal of all curses can focus us on listening to the messages we give our own mind when we speak.
This attitude in the Hawaiian tradition would be an expression of Aloha.
