While the next offering may not be quite traditional Huna, we believe that the guidance captures the essential teachings and offers a very effective method of triggering spiritual growth. The key to successful use of the suggested method is your intent.
To initiate or substantially accelerate the process of letting Spirit be your guide in all actions, you can pray for unity with spirit through the conceptual framework offered in the Huna teachings.
In that conceptual framework, prayer is broken down into three steps. With each step, there is a ritual of breathing four deep, rhythmic breaths. There is also a pause between each step.
The framework itself consists of three parts: body, mind, and spirit or higher self.
Step One: Request the body to produce mana. Mana is the Hawaiian equivalent of Chi or life force found in other teachings. Mana can only be produced by the body because the body is a physical manifestation through which all the elements of matter are accessible. In consciously choosing to breath four deep breaths, rather than leaving your breathing to the automatic reflexes of the body, you are calling the body's attention. Assume that your body knows exactly what mana means and how to produce it.
During your four deep breaths, the body will be preparing the mana. Pause a moment before the next step to re-center your attention on the process.
Step Two: Plant the thoughtform you wish to see realized in the mana. The mind steps into the process to provide form to the prayer and a conceptualization of what the final realization of the prayer will look like. In the case of this particular prayer -- Unity with Spirit -- the final realization concept can be left open, assuming that mind is not currently aware of what true union with Spirit will really mean. Again, you provide the four deep breaths and the pause after completion.
Step Three: Send the mana with the thoughtform implanted in it to the higher self. This is that part of you that is connected to the divine plan and knows why you are here. This part of you has the ability to transform the mana into prana, which we can think of as spiritual force, and send the thoughtform energized by prana into the material world. While this transformation is taking place, remember to do your four breaths.
Those three steps complete the prayer. The fourth step is to proceed knowing your prayer is being answered. See your unfolding life as a map to unity with Spirit. Every bump in the road is an opportunity to uncover what you need to know to make a stronger and stronger connection with your spiritual path. Every discovery is an affirmation that you prayed effectively.
In many ways, this one prayer is the all-encompassing prayer. If you are unified with your Spirit, all your other needs will be met and your highest dreams realized.
